Salisbury Earns District Championship Berth With Third Victory Against Rival Westran

Salisbury boys basketball beat Westran 71-55 in the district semifinals at Salisbury Thursday. Westran grabbed an early 7-5 edge, but Salisbury countered with a 10-2 run.

Wyatt’s senior guard-forward Luke Abeln delivered 21 points, and junior Jayden Green added 17. Westran senior Karter Koenig recorded 20 points, but Salisbury limited sophomore standout Langden Kitchen to 11. Hornets head coach Chris Sander explained the difference.

Sander reflected on Westran’s 19-6 season.

Westran graduates three starters. 19-2 Salisbury seeks a 15th straight victory when it hosts Slater in the district championship Saturday at 12:45pm on KIRK and centralmoinfo.com. Slater outlasted Harrisburg 46-43 in the district semifinals at Harrisburg Thursday.
