Route 22 Bridge Is Included In 2026 STIP

On our recent KWIX MoDOT program, a caller expressed concern over the Route 22 bridge between Sturgeon and Centralia that includes a curve. Area Engineer Paula Gough said its replacement is on the radar.

STIP stands for Statewide Transportation Improvement Plan. Gough said there’s a number one factor when determining which bridges get replaced first.

Gough said an added part of the 22 bridge equation is time dealing with another entity like the railroad.
