Rockett Signs To Play Baseball At Arkansas Tech

One of the best athletes in Higbee High School history made his college intentions known today (Thur.). Two-sport star Derek Rockett signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball at Arkansas Tech University. Arkansas Tech is an NCAA Division II baseball program. The Wonder Boys went 32-22 last season.

Rockett is a 3-time All-State selection in baseball. He also earned All-State honors in basketball, in addition to being a McDonald’s All-American Nominee this year.

In baseball, Rockett has a career ERA below one run a game, with a batting average of .622. Rockett scored over 2,500 points in his basketball career.
