The Senate’s ag chairman credits farm groups for turning the tide and helping Republicans successfully restore 30 billion dollars in key Farm Bill programs and virus funding in the Commodity Credit Corporation. Nearly 50 farm groups covering most of agriculture mobilized to restore the CCC replenishment funds that House Democrats threatened to scuttle from a must-pass bill to keep the government open.

The Continuing Resolution passed the House late Tuesday by a 359-57 vote, with all but one no vote coming from Republicans. If passed by the Senate, the measure would fully fund the government, including farm bill programs, through December 11th.
