Rising Costs Limiting Harrisburg Bond Project

Voters in April approved the Harrisburg School District’s three-million dollar, no tax increase bond issue for a variety of planned building projects. Superintendent Steve Combs says the scope of these projects is being dialed back.

The district had originally planned four different building projects. Combs says there are two projects that are still on the table now.

Construction of a multipurpose building and the addition of a fine arts building on the high school campus are being tabled for the time being. Combs says they’re finalizing construction plans.

Little Dixie Construction of Columbia is overseeing the project. Work is set to begin in late spring.
