Rezoning Proposal Attracts Large Crowd to Kirksville City Council Meeting

A proposed project from the Hannibal Regional Healthcare System attracted a large crowd to Monday’s Kirksville City Council meeting. Communications Director Austin Miller says the project has a re-zoning proposal attached to it.

The Hannibal Regional Healthcare System wants to build a specialized clinic on East Illinois Street. Miller explains some of the concerns regarding the project.

Other concerns included expanded traffic and noise in the area. There were attendees who also spoke in favor of the project due to the possibility of expanded health care. Miller says one issue both sides have is the proposed location.

No decision was made on the re-zoning this week. Discussion will continue at a special Kirksville City Council meeting Monday night.
