Replanting Decisions Loom For Dry Soybean Fields

Even with soybean planting two weeks ahead of normal pace, dry conditions across much of Missouri is taking its toll on a number of fields.  Poor stands and uneven spacing between emerging crops could prompt farmers to pursue replanting their beans.  University of Missouri Extension soybean specialist Andre Reis explains one way farmers can determine the viability of their current stand.

Reis notes that time is short to determine whether a replant will provide the higher yield desired.

Doctor Andre Reis joined the University of Missouri’s College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources in April.  He has additional guidance about whether or not to replant soybeans available on the Missouri Soybeans website.
