Randolph County Commission Working to Determine Use for Recreational Marijuana Tax Revenue

The recent approval of recreational marijuana in Missouri means counties throughout the state are set to receive additional tax revenues. While the state portion goes towards veterans services and substance abuse treatment, in each county a local portion of the revenue can be put towards other purposes. The Randolph County Commission has begun discussing different uses for the new tax revenue. Truesdell says there’s one particular item they’re looking at.

The commission will further discuss the topic on December 14th.

Attendees are also encouraged to offer alternative suggestions on how to use the tax revenues. The discussion is scheduled to take place at 11 am.
