There is a connection to the 8th execution in Missouri since the use of lethal injection. A jury in Randolph County Circuit Court recommended Martsay Bolder of Kansas City be executed, and a judge gave him the death sentence in 1980. He was put to death on January 27, 1993. Bolder was serving a life sentence for murder when he fatally stabbed his former cellmate at the Missouri State Penitentiary in Jefferson City. He arrived in the Corrections system after being sentenced to life for a killing in Kansas City when he was 17.
