School districts across Missouri are continuing to discuss the grant that would increase minimum teacher salaries to 38-thousand dollars. Putnam County Superintendent Heath Halley says that and other pieces of legislation passed this year by the legislature were a big focus during a recent school board meeting.

Halley adds a lot of what has been passed by the state legislature has created uncertainty for the district.

The Putnam County School District is in the process of trying to adequately fund its salary schedule for all of their teachers. The next school board meeting is scheduled for June 6th.
