Paris and Scotland County Seek Postseason Momentum in Late Season Clash

Paris hosts Scotland County tonight in a Lewis & Clark Conference doubleheader. The Lady Coyotes enter their matchup with Scotland County after a narrow 52-44 loss to Westran on Tuesday. That defeat snapped a four-game winning streak for Paris. Coach Garrett Thomas says defense has been the key to their recent winning ways.

They’ll face a challenge from the Lady Tigers top scorer, Kwyn Hamlin, who averaged 23 points across three games at the La Plata Tournament last week. Thomas discusses the plan to slow Hamlin down.

On the boys’ side, Paris looks to snap a three-game losing streak to the Tigers. The Coyotes are coming off a 51-40 loss to Westran on Tuesday. Coach Jeremy Skinner says he’s looking for more consistency from his team.

Walter Rucker leads the Coyotes with 15.4 points per game despite playing just eight games due to injury. The Tigers are 9-10 on the season with 13 of those games decided by single digits. That includes a 65-62 overtime victory against Westran on Wednesday. Coach Jeremy Austin says their defense will be the key to maintaining momentum.

Pregame coverage from Paris High School will begin at 5:45 on KRES 104.7 and centralmoinfo.com. Colin Schowe will have the play-by-play.
