Better Business Bureau Regional Director Don O’Brien joined KWIXLand This Morning this week to talk about the dangers of running into scammers while giving charitable donations. Money scams can be found often on sites like GoFundMe.
It can be more difficult for national and/or international causes.
Other tips to avoid charitable donation scams include watching for name similarities, avoiding on-the-spot donations from unfamiliar organizations and begin wary of emotional appeals.
