North Shelby Looks For Second Straight Win Against Top 10 Opponent in Orrick

North Shelby has another Eight-Man Football Top 10 matchup tonight. The second ranked Raiders welcome eighth ranked Orrick for their annual Central River Conference showdown. Last week, the Raiders went on the road and defeated top ranked Stanberry 14-13. While head coach David Stuckey was pleased with win, he was more impressed with how his Raiders approached the game.

North Shelby is paced by senior quarterback Cale Stoneburner, whose 1,327 yards of total offense is eighth most in the state this year. The Raiders will face a Orrick team whose lone loss came to newly top ranked Worth County.

The Orrick Bearcats enter this matchup 5-1 and tied for eighth in the latest state 8-man poll. Orrick head coach Kirk Thacker says his team is fired up for a chance to take down the number two team in the state.

Senior quarterback Blake Buchanan has been a versatile leader for the Bearcats offense. Buchanan has split time at quarterback and running back this season, totaling 297 yards and four touchdowns through the air and 1,052 yards and 21 touchdowns on the ground. Stuckey says the Raiders must identify where Buchanan is at all times.

The Raiders have won three of the four meetings between the two schools. Pregame coverage on Glory 97.3 and centralmoinfo.com begins at 6:25pm. Scott Lunte and Brandon Monty have the call.
