National Weather Service Provides Damage Assessment from Stormy Weekend

Severe storms rolled through the listening area Saturday night. Preliminary reports have one tornado striking Trenton with two more reported in Linn County. The strongest of the three was an EF 2 that touched down near Linneus. Meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill, Chris Bowman, says Linneus saw the brunt of the storm damage.

Bowman adds they’ve determined the track and size of this particular cyclone.

While the tornado dissipated shortly after crossing into Macon County they also saw significant damage from Saturday’s storm.

Saturday’s storms had large hail ranging from baseball-sized in Macon County to grapefruit-sized in the northwest corner of the state.
