NAIA Volleyball and Women’s Soccer Pairings Announced

The NAIA announced the 24 opening round pairings for the Women’s Volleyball National Championship. Five Missouri schools made the field. Central Methodist will host Cottey, William Woods will be at Ottawa of Kansas, Missouri Baptist will host Milligan of Tennessee, and Park will host Indiana University-East. Those matches will be played this Saturday, with the winners advancing to pool play in Sioux City, Iowa, starting April 27th. The national champion will be crowned May 1st.

The Missouri Valley Men’s Volleyball team reached the NAIA’s twelve-team national tournament. Missouri Valley was awarded the eighth seed for the tournament. The Vikings have been placed in Group A with top-seeded Grand View and ninth-seeded Saint Xavier, Illinois. Missouri Valley enters the tournament with a record of 17-5. Pool play at the NAIA Men’s Volleyball National Championship will April 20th through the 22nd. The semifinals and championship will take place April 23rd and 24th respectively. All games are being held at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines.

The 40 teams in the Women’s Soccer National Championship Opening Round were revealed. The opening round will be played at ten campus sites, with the winners headed to Foley, Alabama, April 27th through May 3rd. Columbia College is the number two seed in the bracket it is hosting. The Cougars will play Kansas Wesleyan Thursday at 2, with the defending national champs, Keiser of Florida, playing Concordia of Nebraska at 6. The two winners will meet Saturday at 1. Central Methodist is the top seed in the Marion, Indiana. bracket. They’ll play College of Idaho at 5:30 Thursday, after Indiana Wesleyan plays Georgia Gwinnett. The two winners meet Saturday at 5. Missouri Valley is the second seed in the Williamsburg, Kentucky, bracket. The Vikings will play Trinity Christian of Illinois Thursday at 5, with the winner getting either Cumberlands of Kentucky or Mount Vernon Nazarene of Ohio Saturday.
