More Marijuana DWIs Are Likely

Randolph County Prosecuting Attorney Stephanie Luntsford says she has seen an increase in DWI cases since voters first approved medical marijuana. She expects that number to go up further now that voters approved recreational use. Missouri does not have an objective standard for marijuana as it does alcohol.

She says other evidence can be used to prosecute marijuana DWIs.

Luntsford says an objective standard could help prosecutors.

53 percent of Missouri voters approved the constitutional amendment legalizing recreational marijuana.
