Monroe County Clerk Accused of Breaking Law by Allowing Late Filing

Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft announced he is asking the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office to file charges against County Clerk La Jeana Peterson for allegedly allowing a candidate to file after the 5pm deadline on March 29th. Ashcroft announced his office’s findings Wednesday after it received complaints.
