Monroe City senior guard Bryce Stark committed to Hannibal-LaGrange University two weeks ago. Stark received KRES All-Star and Class 3 All-State honors.

Stark referenced fellow CCC Co-Player of the Year Jayden Durst of Palmyra, who also committed to Hannibal-LaGrange March 29th. Durst’s father Jason Durst just finished his 15th season as HLG’s head coach. Stark and Jayden Durst played for Jason Durst’s travel team last summer.

Stark guided Monroe City to the state semifinals and a fourth straight district championship this season. Panthers head coach Brock Edris says Hannibal-LaGrange presents an ideal situation for Stark.

Stark discusses his college basketball goals.

The senior’s Panthers lost three straight sectional games before this year’s Show-Me Showdown appearance. In Wednesday’s KRES All-Star interview, Stark explained how previous losses provided an emotional moment in the locker room after Monroe City advanced to the quarterfinals last month.

The versatile Stark averaged almost 10 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two and a half steals for the 28-3 Panthers. Stark expressed an interest in nursing, physical therapy, or a physician assistant program. Hear a full interview on Bryce Stark’s commitment to Hannibal-LaGrange below.
