Monroe City Hosts Macon on Senior Night

Monroe City will welcome Macon for senior night tonight. The girls’ game will be a preview of the opening round of district play with the two schools meeting again on Monday. Monroe City coach Adam Rung doesn’t expect to change much in his team’s approach.

The Lady Panthers enter play with a record of 13-12 following a 34-22 win over Brookfield on Tuesday. The Macon Tigerettes have split games with Clark County and Highland this week to move their record to 9-16. Coach Thomas Kirkland says the key to success against Monroe City will lie in his team’s offense.

The Monroe City Panthers will look to send their four seniors out with a win in the regular season finale. The Panthers bring a 15-9 record into the contest. They defeated Brookfield 69-36 on Tuesday with Quincy Mayfield leading the team with 17 points. Coach Brock Edris says it’s important to get out to a fast start on senior night.

The young Macon Tigers are carrying some momentum into the game having won recent Clarence Cannon Conference games against Brookfield and Clark County. Jonathan Bray leads the Tigers with 13 points per game. Coach Dale Devenport wants his team to bring a strong compete level into Monroe City.
