Moberly Woman Seriously Hurt on Highway 36

A Moberly woman was seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 36, five miles east of Brookfield, around 9:45 Thursday morning. The State Highway Patrol says 41-year-old Melissa McKenzie failed to yield, and pulled into the path of a westbound car driven by 78-year-old David Ediger of Newton, Kansas. McKenzie had serious injuries, and a passenger in the other car, 77-year-old Kay Ediger of Newton, Kansas, had minor injuries. Both were taken to Brookfield. David Ediger was not hurt.
