Moberly Notches Homecoming Shutout Over Fulton

The Moberly Spartans blanked the Fulton Hornets on homecoming night 35-0. The Spartans struck quick.

Austin Ward with the call on KWIX-AM and centralmoinfo.com. Fulton had a big chance with second and goal from the one yard line but Moberly turned the Hornets away on three straight plays to get the ball back. The Spartans then marched 99 yards on eight plays and capped the drive with St. Clair’s second score of the night from one yard out. Coach Cody McDowell said that was the moment of the game.

The first half also included a 16-yard touchdown pass from Jackson Engel to Jay Lindsay. Engel found the endzone again as time expired.

The extra point gave Moberly a 28-0 halftime advantage. The lone score of the second half was an 80-yard pick six by Nick Kessler, one of two interceptions for him on the night. The win included some miscues for the Spartans. They turned the ball over four times and had two touchdowns wiped off the board by penalties.

The defense forced five turnovers. Moberly is now 5-0. Fulton drops to 0-5.
