Moberly Man Faces Drug Charges After Accident

A Moberly man faces drug charges after an accident Monday near the intersection of Promenade and Lee Streets. Moberly Police say the driver, who was identified as 37-year-old Joseph Vargas, was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle while his license was suspended. Officers found about 16 capsules of suspected fentanyl on him. He’s been charged with drug trafficking, and is held in the Randolph County Jail on 15 thousand dollars bond. His initial court appearance is scheduled for Monday.
