Moberly Hosts Kirksville Tuesday

Moberly continues its NCMC slate when it hosts Kirksville Tuesday. The 9-11 Spartans look to rebound from a 75-50 loss to Mexico Friday. 11-7 Kirksville went 1-2 at the Southern Boone Classic last week, falling to Fort Zumwalt South and Southern Boone while beating North Point. It was a two-point game going into the fourth quarter in the matchup two weeks ago that Kirksville won 61-50. Moberly coach Brett Boyer found a notable turning point.

The Tigers got a big boost in the final quarter from a personal 7-0 run by Gavin Pike. Coach Tyler Martin says he’s continued to use that momentum.

The Moberly girls cruised to a 65-33 victory in the first matchup. Haley Baker had 15 points to start an ongoing streak of five straight games scoring in double figures. The 19-2 Lady Spartans have won eight in-a-row, including three lopsided wins last week. Coach Tony Vestal…
