Moberly Girls Roll Hannibal, Boys Fall Short

Moberly split a doubleheader at Hannibal Tuesday.

The Lady Spartans got out to a 41-8 lead at halftime and cruised to a 57-35 win. Grace Billington caught the hot hand.

Mariah Mayfield’s 11 led Hannibal. The Lady Pirates drop to 5-2. Moberly is 5-1.

The Spartans fell 52-41. Moberly chipped away at an early 20-9 deficit.

Cameron Doubrava closed the night with a team-high 10 points. Despite holding Hannibal to four second quarter points, the Spartans didn’t capture their first lead until the early seconds of the third quarter.

The lead was short lived and Hannibal led the rest of the way. The Pirates got 11 points from Dae’Shon Glasgow and 10 points from both Haden Robertson and Thomas Janes. Moberly coach Brett Boyer said the same story unfolded on a different night.
