Moberly Gets Early Test in Lady Spartans Clash at Battle

It will be a clash of Lady Spartans Tuesday when Moberly gets an early-season test at Class 6 Battle. Moberly won its first game of the season last week 54-44 over Monroe City. Coach Tony Vestal thought the rebounding effort could’ve been better.

Vestal knows Battle will present multiple challenges, and says that was the point of putting them on the schedule.

Battle coach Dustyn Yung has similar feelings about Moberly.

Yung enters his third year leading the Battle girls after two years as an MACC assistant. They come off a 20-win season and had four girls average double figures. Two of them return.
