Moberly Fire Department Participates in Ice Rescue Program
For the past two days, the Moberly Fire Department has been participating in an Ice Rescue Program. The program featured both a classroom session and live field exercises. Moberly Fire Chief George Albert explains what the field exercises involved.
Topics covered during the program included the evaluation of ice conditions, operational plans, ice rescue techniques, and accident scene evaluation. Albert says Missouri’s ever-changing weather makes this training valuable.
The training program was organized by Dive Rescue International. President Justin Fox explains how the program with the Moberly Fire Department was organized.
Dive Rescue International does up to 150 ice training programs worldwide each year. The organization is based in Fort Collins, Colorado.
