Moberly Coasts to District Win Over Macon

The Moberly Spartans rolled to a 49-10 win over Macon Friday night. Gage St. Clair scored from 11 yards out on Moberly’s first drive. A bad punt snap by Macon set the Spartans up with good field position for their second drive.

Austin Ward with the call on KWIX and centralmoinfo.com. Engel added his second score on an eight-yard run 12 seconds into the second quarter. Ka’Von Tiger had a 55-yard reception to set up a 13-yard touchdown run and followed the next drive with a 14-yard rushing score. St. Clair’s second touchdown run came early in the third.

Macon’s lone score came on a 77-yard touchdown pass from Xennon Isaacson to Isaac Kauffman. Moberly coach Cody McDowell said the goal of the game was reached.

McDowell said his team followed the gameplan.

Macon coach Van Vanatta said he was proud of his team for fighting through an 0-10 season.

Macon will remain a young team next year.

Moberly moves to 8-2 and will host Centralia in the district semifinals.
