Moberly Boys Pull Ahead in Final Minute, Girls Win Big Over Marshall

The Moberly boys notched a close win while the girls cruised in a sweep of Marshall Tuesday.

The Spartans were victorious 74-71. It was tied with less than two minutes to play.

Cameron Doubrava contributed 14 points and B.J. Godreau added 12. After struggling in the first quarter in recent games, coach Brett Boyer’s 10-13 Spartans led 8-2 early.

The score was tied after both the first and second quarters. Moberly grabbed the lead midway through the third and held it the rest of the way. 9-14 Marshall got a game-high 27 points from Deacon Arends while Steven Caviness ended with 18.

2007 Moberly graduate Ashley Agee, who Billington surpassed January 6th, was in attendance for the pregame ceremony.

Haley Baker had the hot hand for the Lady Spartans early.

Baker and Asa Fanning both concluded with 17 points. Moberly moves to 22-2 while Marshall drops to 2-20.
