Missouri’s First Lady Presents Dairy Month Proclamation

Missouri First Lady Teresa Parson stepped in for the governor Thursday morning at a dairy farm in Osage County to proclaim June as Dairy Month.  Parson appeared with Missouri Department of Agriculture Director Chris Chinn at the Brandt Dairy Farm outside Linn, receiving a tour as well as enjoying a glass of milk during the brief ceremony.  She says dairy plays an important role in Missouri agriculture.

Dairy has a significant role in Parson’s background, as she grew up on a dairy farm.

Missouri is home to 494 dairy farms and 36 milk processors.  June has served as National Dairy Month since its introduction in 1937 as National Milk Month.
