Missourians Encouraged to Report Feral Hog Sightings

While feral hogs are typically confined to the southern portions of Missouri, it is not out of the question for these invasive creatures to spread further north into the listening area. Monroe County conservation agent Jessica Filla explains what to do if you believe you’ve spotted a feral hog.

Feral hogs can cause significant damage to areas they come in contact with.

Nearly 10,000 feral hogs were removed from the state in 2021. Filla details the measures the Missouri Department of Conservation is taking to limit their spread.

An established feral hog population has been found in Clark County. There have also been isolated sightings in Macon, Putnam, and Schuyler counties reported in previous years.
