Missouri Legislature Considering Expansion of MOBUCK$ Program Budget

The Missouri Legislature recently heard calls from State Treasurer Vivek Malek to increase funds for the MOBUCK$ program. House Bill 1803 would increase the cap on the program’s low interest loan program funds from $800 million to $1.2 billion. State Representative Cheri Toalson Reisch says there are budgetary concerns with this proposal.

The MOBUCK$ program provides low-interest loans for farmers, small businesses and local governments. Toalson Reisch says the program’s importance is undeniable.

The bill to expand the MOBUCK$ budget is sponsored by Representative Terry Thompson of Lexington.
