Missouri House Set to Reconsider Initiative Petition Reform

The Missouri House of Representatives is set to reconsider initiative petition reform this week. This comes after the Senate approved a bill that would raise the voter threshold to change the Missouri Constitution to 57 percent, which was a change from the House’s initial proposal of 60 percent. Representative Cheri Toalson Reisch of Hallsville doesn’t anticipate much push back from the House.

The Senate approved the measure along party lines. Toalson Reisch says there was plenty of compromise with this legislation.

If the initiative petition reform is approved, it would be placed on a future ballot for voter approval.
