Missouri FFA To Open Convention Doors A Day Earlier

Participants at the 96th Missouri FFA Convention will arrive in Columbia earlier, as organizers have adjusted their schedule to have the convention begin Wednesday afternoon.  Executive Secretary Teresa Briscoe says the goal is for the convention to wrap up earlier Friday evening, eliminating red-eye bus rides home for many chapters.

The Ag Issues Forum, Conduct of Meetings, and Parliamentary Procedure Leadership Development Events will begin Wednesday morning at the Holiday Inn Executive Center while Agronomy, Dairy Foods, Livestock and Nursery/Landscaping Career Development Events will take place on the University of Missouri Campus.  Briscoe notes two speakers are lined up for Wednesday’s opening session in the Hearnes Center.

Activities at the 96th Missouri FFA Convention include the announcement of the new officer team Thursday afternoon and awarding of 46 proficiency awards and four state stars.  The final session will begin next Friday at 4 p.m. and include the awarding of state degrees, along with a keynote speech from Missouri Gov. Mike Parson.

Regional Radio Farm Director Kyle Hill will have reports from the state convention in Columbia next Thursday and Friday.
