Missouri Farmers Union Leader Applauds USDA Announcements At NFU Convention

USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack made several policy announcements during his speech to the National Farmers Union’s annual convention this month in Scottsdale, Arizona.  Missouri Farmers Union president Dr Tom Coudron says one of Vilsack’s most significant statements pertained to country of origin labeling.

Coudron said another update from USDA that caught his attention was a new advisory panel concerning seed traits and how they’re registered with the U.S. Copyright Office.

Missouri Farmers Union president Dr Tom Coudron said that the group also applauded Vilsack’s latest round of guidelines for enforcing the Packers and Stockyards Act, as well as plans to release more revisions later this year.
