McKendree Beats Truman For The First Time In The GLVC

Clare Breden scored 27 points to lead the McKendree women to a 76-71 victory over Truman in Lebanon, Illinois this afternoon (Sat.). It is the first time in 14 tries the Bearcats beat the Bulldogs as GLVC opponents.

McKendree had a 12 point lead with just over eight minutes left in the game. The Bulldogs scored nine in a row to make it a one-possession game. The Bearcats pushed the advantage to 70-64 before Emma Bulman gave Truman a chance….

Brad Boyer with the call on Glory 97.3 and centralmoinfo.com. Truman could get no closer in dropping the conference-opener. Bulman led the Bulldogs with a career-high 18 points. Coach Theo Dean said 24 turnovers was one of the problems for his team….

Truman also had twice as many fouls as McKendree, with 24, and the Bearcats held a 23-7 advantage in points at the free throw line. Bailey Kliewer scored 17. The Bulldogs drop to 3-4 and will host preseason favorite Lewis on Monday. Pregame coverage will begin at 5:00 on KRES. McKendree improves to 3-2.

The Truman men lost a Concordia-St. Paul 96-54. Blaise Porter was the only Bulldog in double figures with 12. The ‘Dogs drop to 2-3 and will play Southwest Minnesota State Sunday at 2:00.
