Macon County Enhanced 911 has announced the completed installation of a new Next Generation 911 Telephone system for the county. The system replaces a 911 system that was more than 10 years old. Director Mike Kindle details what residents can expect.

The total cost of the new system was $121,000, and it was purchased from A&W Communications. Kindle says the entire purchase was covered by grant funds.

Kindle says the installation is phase one of a multi-phase plan for Macon County.

Phase two of Macon County Enhanced 911’s plan is expected to get underway within the next 40 days.
