The Macon County Health Department has released its weekly COVID-19 update. The department’s latest report shows 22 new cases of the virus. Of the new cases, 4 were vaccinated and one was a re-infection who wasn’t previously vaccinated. There are currently 28 active cases of the virus, including seven hospitalizations. Macon County is continuing to see an upward trend in COVID-19 cases. Of the last 127 new cases, only six people were vaccinated. Macon County is averaging 20.5 new cases weekly in the month of June.
