MACC Visits Three Rivers

The Moberly Lady Hounds and Greyhounds are at Three Rivers Saturday night. The Lady Hounds are 11-15, and 3-7 in Region 16. The 13th-ranked Lady Raiders are 22-4, and 7-2, having won seven straight. Coach Erika Harris says the defense needs to be better than it was being outscored 21-9 in the fourth quarter on Wednesday’s loss to Mineral Area.

The 20th-ranked Greyhounds are 21-6, and 8-2 in the region. Three Rivers is 13-14, and 3-6 in the region, tied for third with State Fair. The team finishing third advances to the tournament semifinals, while the team finishing fourth has to host West Plains in a play-in game. Coach Pat Smith says one key will be to compete on every possession.

The Greyhounds have beaten the Raiders nine straight times in Poplar Bluff, with the last loss coming in the Raiders’ old gym in January 2016.

J.B. Connoley will have the pregame at 4:50, women at 5, men at 7 on KWIX and centralmoinfo.com.
