The Missouri House sent a bill to the Senate last week that would keep inspectors from other states off Missouri farms unless they’re invited. State Representative Danny Busick from Newtown says House Bill 574 addresses a problem he says is caused by special interest groups.

Producers could invite out-of-state inspectors on to their property if they need that to market products out of state. Busick says trespassing laws aren’t enough.

The bill was submitted by Representative Kent Haden of Mexico.
