I-70 Cooper County Fatal Accident

A Chesterfield man was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on eastbound Interstate 70 in Cooper County at the 102.8 mile marker late Friday afternoon. The State Highway Patrol reports a semi driven by 48-year old Noel Moise of Miami, Florida was stopped in congested traffic, due to another accident ahead, and a car driven by 33-year old Katherine Calgett of Kansas City was stopped behind. A tractor trailer driven by 55-year old Momchil Petrov of Chesterfield was unable to stop striking the car and forcing it into the median. Petrov’s semi then struck the first semi and his cab separated from the frame. Petrov was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two drivers were taken to Columbia for treatment.
