Higbee Wins First-ever District Championship

The Higbee Tigers clinched their first ever district title in a 61-31 win over Community Thursday. Higbee led 9-7 after one quarter and began pulling away in the second.

Austin Ward with the call on Glory 97. Redifer finished with a game-high 20 points, 18 of which came in the first half. Freshmen Derek Rockett and Jordan Fuemmeler scored 18 and 17 respectively. Coach Tanner Burton thinks you can credit big-game jitters for the slow start.

Community coach Matt Thomas recapped his team’s season.

Mason Carroll led the team with 11 points. Community finishes the season 5-19. Higbee is now 17-5 and faces the winner of Leeton and Northwest (Hughesville) in sectionals.
