Harrisburg Departing Lewis and Clark Conference for New League

Harrisburg is departing the Lewis & Clark Conference to form a new league in the 2024-25 school year. The seven respective schools making up the new conference made a joint announcement this afternoon. Superintendent Steve Combs says football scheduling was one of the main factors of the move.

Marceline previously announced a move to the Grand River East for 2024-25. Combs says difficult travel was another reason for Harrisburg’s move.

L&C rival Fayette will join the Bulldogs in the new conference. Other members of the new league are South Callaway, Russellville, New Bloomfield, Linn and Eugene. Combs says the new conference will provide Harrisburg with a better travel schedule.

Harrisburg, Fayette and Marceline will all continue play in the Lewis & Clark Conference for the upcoming academic year.
