Greyhounds Visit Triton With Automatic Berth at Stake
The 19th-ranked Moberly Greyhounds visit 7th-ranked Triton Saturday for the NJCAA Midwest District Championship. It’s the Greyhounds first trip to River Grove, Illinois, since the teams met for the 2019 district championship.

Verge had 42 points in that game. Sean Miller-Moore had 20 points and 11 rebounds. That win snapped an 82-game home winning streak for the Trojans. The Greyhounds also beat the Trojans at Fitzsimmons-John for the district championship in 2022, and are 3-2 against the Trojans overall.
Saturday’s winner earns an automatic berth in the national tournament in Hutchinson. Guard Xavier Sykes was already looking forward to the opportunity after winning the Region 16 Championship Saturday night at Mineral Area.
Greyhounds Coach Pat Smith said the zone defense was working as well as it has all year.
