Greyhounds Fall to Indian Hills

After a missed free throw by Braden Sparks of Indian Hills, the Moberly Greyhounds’ last effort came up short in a 81-79 loss to the Warriors Tuesday night.

J.B. Connoley with the call on KWIX and centralmoinfo.com. Moberly had jumped out to a 12-point lead in the first half, before the Warriors came back to tie it up at 39 at halftime.

The two Top 25 teams had eight ties and eight lead changes throughout the night. Moberly was down six late before taking the lead for the final time with an 11-nothing run.

Freddie Cooper finished with 11. Tekao Carpenter finished with 21, including five threes. Xavier Sykes had 13, and Akili Evans had 12. Coach Pat Smith said give the Warriors credit.

17th-ranked Moberly falls to 19-6, and is at State Fair Saturday night. 16th-ranked Indian Hills is 19-5.
