Greyhounds Beat Jefferson, Women Lose in Split

The Moberly Greyhounds dominated Jefferson in a 102-50 win Tuesday night, while the Lady Hounds could not hold an early 17 point lead in a 58-52 loss.

Destiny Bynum-Johnson led Moberly with 14, as the Lady Hounds fall to 10-12. Jefferson’s Chaniya Felton led all scorers with 27, as the Lady Vikings go to 14-6. Moberly hosts Crowder Saturday.

Sparked by an early 14-nothing run, the Greyhound men almost went wire-to-wire over the first-year Vikings.

The Greyhounds were up 57-19 at halftime. Moberly hit 12 threes on the night, and was led by Freddie Cooper’s 24 points. Coach Pat Smith says his team has played with great energy the last two games.

The Greyhounds are 18-5, and host West Plains Saturday. Jefferson falls to 8-13.
