Gopher Baseball Has District Title Expectations

Green City baseball has been a model of consistency, having won four district titles in the previous five years excluding the 2020 spring season that was cancelled due to COVID-19. Head coach Dale Whitacre says playing baseball late in May is always the goal.

North Shelby defeated the Gophers 5-1 in last year’s sectional matchup. Whitacre says the team this year returns with added motivation and developed pieces.

Whitacre expects an all-around approach to the baseball diamond from his squad.

The Gophers finished with a 9-1 record in the fall season.
