Francis Drops 37, Wooldridge Double-Double in Salisbury 3rd Place Win

The Salisbury Panthers took 3rd place in Class 2 with a 77-66 win over the South Pemiscot Bulldogs. South Pemiscot led by 10 after one quarter and built the lead as high as 13 halfway through the second. The Panthers cut their deficit to seven at half and outscored the Bulldogs 20-13 in the third to even the score at 52. Salisbury never trailed in the fourth.

Austin Ward with the calls on KRES and Cooper Francis dropped a game-high 37 points. Hayden Wooldridge had 21 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks. Coach Kenny Wyatt said the quick turnaround was a challenge.

Wyatt said he saw a more balanced effort compared to the semifinal.

South Pemiscot’s Robert Farmer scored 14 points in the first quarter but Salisbury switched to the trap and held him to eight points over the last three.

The Panthers conclude their season 29-3.
