Former Mizzou Basketball Star Kim English Named George Mason Head Coach

Former Missouri Tigers basketball star Kim English has been hired as the new head coach of George Mason University. English had spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Tennessee. He had previously spent two seasons each as an assistant for Tulsa and Colorado. English will be serving as a head coach for the first time in his career. He takes over a George Mason program that is coming off a 13-9 season in which they were defeated 99-67 by Davidson in the Atlantic 10 Quarterfinals.

Prior to his coaching career, English starred at Mizzou as a sharpshooting guard from 2008 to 2012. His run with the Tigers was capped by being named the Big 12 Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player in 2012. The Tigers defeated Baylor to capture the Big 12 Tournament title in their final year in the conference.
