First and Only Macon Wrestling Coach Accepts Marceline Job

The first and only head coach in Macon wrestling history is moving on to Marceline. Andrew Stewart recently accepted the wrestling head coaching position. He says it boils down to tradition.

One of the highlights of Stewart’s time in Macon was heavyweight Caden Phillips winning the program’s first ever individual state title in 2019.

Marceline wrestling has collected 11 state trophies in program history and eight since 2006 but has never won it all. Stewart is intent on changing that.

Marceline wrestling’s most recent state trophy was a third place finish in 2018. Previous head coach Austin Bruner accepted a teaching position at Centralia.
