A fatal car crash in Saline County killed a Concordia woman and seriously injured a 7-year-old passenger on Friday afternoon. According to the State Highway Patrol, just after 2 p.m. an SUV driven by 30-year-old Katherine Peroni-Searles of Concordia, Missouri was headed north on US Highway 65 just north of Keokuk Avenue when she failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the right side of the road. The SUV then struck an embankment and went airborne before striking the ground multiple times. The driver, Peroni-Searles was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The juvenile, also from Concordia was flown to a nearby children’s hospital with serious injuries.
